img_20160723_111439851_hdrUpfest is Europe’s largest, free, street art & graffiti festival, attracting over 300 artists painting 28 venues throughout Bedminster & Southville, Bristol just two minutes from our hub! Talented artists travel from 25 countries and across the UK to paint live on 30,000sqft of surfaces in front of 25,000 visitors.
Upfest is a multi-venue festival, with North Street in Bedminster at it’s centre, connecting venues and painting locations. The whole high street and the surrounding areas fill up with crowds of people, and there is an amazing buzz for the whole festival weekend.

Because of the nature of art, especially street art and graffiti, this festival presents a fairly intense spiritual battle between life and death.
We have been privileged for the past two years to partner with St Francis Church on North Street, to do some outreach into the festival. The church has been an official venue for the past couple of years, which gave us the opportunity to be hospitable to the artists, as well as to set up some interactive community actimg_20160723_144124240_hdrivities, such as a creativity station where kids could come do art, a forgiveness wall where people could right the name of someone they wanted to forgive, and an art workshop for adults, looking at how each person can create something different in their own personal style.

We plan for Upfest to become a yearly outreach, and we would love for more people from around YWAM England (and beyond!) to come and join in each year. This festival is an absolutely fantastic opportunity for evangelism, intercession, and spreading hope, joy and love!
